Another Dream Inmates Talent Hunt 2021

On the 22nd of December 2021, we successfully organized and sponsored a Talent Hunt competition for inmates at the Kiri Kiri Maximum Security Custodial center, Lagos, Nigeria. We had over 100 inmates registered to contest to be the top 3 in each of the contest categories, and over 18 people emerged as winners and got cash prizes from us. We also provided refreshments for hundreds of inmates.

Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos or videos of the main event.

The event wouldn’t have been as successful as it was without the attendance and support of some great friends and partners who ensured we have a lasting impact with this event.

 

We had Mrs Oluyemi Adetiba Orija of Headfort Foundation and Headfort Chambers as one of the judges for the talent hunt. Mrs. Oluyemi was selected with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie as one of the only Nigerians on the BBC 100 most inspiring women of 2021. We also had the Chairman of Dax Group, Pastor Watchman Lekki Pastor Engr. Nnamdi Unachukwu,, who ministered hope and prayed for the Inmates, Gospel singer Jackmira was on ground as well to minister in songs to the inmates, Super Chef Ogennam Emma Enemchukwu was also in attendance and was our second judge. Our team members Gospel, Ebenezer and Isaac Juniho were also on ground to make it a great event.

 

Very special appreciation to our Prison Partners. The Deputy Comptroller of Corrections and Officer in charge of The Kiri Kiri Maximum Custodial center, DCC Prince Mike Okorie, CSC Alu Ogbonnaya Alu, Founder The 3R Club Correctional center and Chief Psychologist, and other officials.

The event was super successful, and the impacts were massive. The inmates all had a great time and expressed their joys and hopes for a better tomorrow.
